Jeonnam: Yeosu Nights and Southern Flavors
Jeonnam, in Korea's southwest, is known for the night sea of Yeosu, Suncheon Bay, and the bamboo forest of Damyang. It is also the home of the Namdo hansang, the generous spread of side dishes the region is famous for. Local specialties include Yeosu's soy-marinated stone crab (dolgejang), Mokpo's junggan noodles and fermented skate (hongeo), Damyang's grilled short-rib patties (tteokgalbi), and Namdo-style hanjeongsik set meals.
